1. Obstacle Recognition Criteria
Neomow X identifies obstacles based on specific criteria:
Size Recognition: Objects must meet the laser radar's detection capabilities, with a minimum height of 20 cm and a minimum diameter of 1 cm. If objects meet or exceed these standards, the mower will recognize them as obstacles and maneuver around them.
Visual Information Recognition: The mower's visual sensors can detect objects significantly different in color from the lawn, such as flower beds or brightly colored items. These objects may be mistaken for obstacles. Consider disabling the visual sensor if normal handling of these obstacles is needed. (Link to how to close)
2. Determining Whether to Create Restricted Areas or Allow Free Obstacle Avoidance
Consider the following scenarios:
Fixed Obstacles: If obstacles in the lawn are permanent, like trees, rocks, or fixed landscaping, it's advisable to create restricted areas. This ensures safe navigation around these obstacles, preventing collisions and damage.
Mowing Precision Requirements: For precise mowing around obstacles such as flower beds or decorations, setting up restricted areas is recommended. This allows the mower to get closer to obstacles for better mowing precision and effectiveness.
3. Obstacle Avoidance Distance
Neomow X maintains a fixed obstacle avoidance distance of 10 cm, which is non-adjustable.
4. Adjusting Obstacle Avoidance Sensitivity
Currently, the sensitivity of Neomow X's obstacle avoidance cannot be adjusted.
5. Types of Recognizable and Avoidable Obstacles
Non-Lawn Objects: Neomow X utilizes segmentation algorithms to recognize objects outside the lawn area, such as trees, rocks, or flower beds. This capability ensures safe and effective mowing operations by avoiding these non-lawn obstacles.
Limitations of Visual Obstacle Avoidance: In low light or dusk conditions, Neomow X's visual obstacle avoidance effectiveness may decrease due to reliance on environmental lighting and color differences. In such cases, there may be misidentifications or failures to detect obstacles.
6. Handling Obstacles on Pathways or Return Paths
Pathway to Other Mowing Areas:
If Neomow X encounters obstacles on pathways to other mowing areas, it will wait for a specified period.
If the obstacles are not removed within this time, Neomow X will skip the affected mowing area due to the blocked pathway and move on to other pending areas. If all areas are mowed but obstacles remain, Neomow X will return to the charging dock and await further instructions.
Pathway to Charging:
When Neomow X returns to the charging dock via pathways and encounters obstacles, it will similarly wait for the obstacles to be removed and notify the user via the app. During this wait, if a scheduled task is triggered and the mower's battery is charged to at least 80%, Neomow X will continue with the task instead of returning to the charging dock.
This structured approach ensures Neomow X efficiently navigates and mows while maintaining safety and performance in various lawn environments.
