If you notice that your lawn has areas that were not mowed, or the mower behaves abnormally—such as getting stuck on flat areas, stopping unexpectedly, or spinning in place—this is usually not a system malfunction. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the Visual Obstacle Avoidance Feature
The Neomow X visual obstacle avoidance system relies on color differences and light changes to detect obstacles. If the lawn is yellowish or lacks contrast, the mower may mistakenly identify grass areas as obstacles.
Steps:
Open the Neomow APP and check if the visual obstacle avoidance feature is enabled.
If the lawn has uniform colors or the mower behaves abnormally, try disabling visual obstacle avoidance.
Restart the mowing task and observe whether the mower moves along a more stable path.
2. Check Mowing Mode and Obstacle Height Settings
Uncut areas may be related to the current mowing mode or obstacle height settings.
If the grass height is over 30 cm (12 in), it may be detected as an obstacle. In this case, please manually trim or clear the grass first before mowing.
If the grass height is close to 30 cm (12 in), we recommend switching the mowing mode to Tall Mode, which is designed to handle higher grass and gradually cut these areas.
If the grass height is relatively low, please check your obstacle height setting in the mowing mode. An obstacle height set too low may cause the mower to treat grass or small uneven areas as obstacles and avoid them, even though they are mowable. Adjust the setting as needed and refer to Obstacle Avoidance Height Setting for detailed guidance.
3. Path Mowing Feature Special Cases
When the Path Mowing feature is enabled, the mower will first avoid detected obstacles and then perform supplemental mowing.
Example:
If there is a chair on the lawn, the mower will initially navigate around it.
Once the current area is completed, if the chair has been removed, the mower will automatically return to mow the missed area.
4. Contact Customer Support
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please submit a support ticket and include a short video showing the mower’s abnormal behavior so our engineers can further assist.
