If your Neomow X Series is showing a warning such as “Lift Error” or “Lift Alert”, it means the device has detected abnormal lifting — even if it appears to be resting on the ground.
These alerts are often related to issues with the caster wheel, which helps the mower respond to terrain changes. This guide will help you check whether the caster wheel is functioning correctly.
🛠️ Step 1: Check for Caster Wheel and Casing Interference
- Rotate the caster wheel by hand.
- Check whether it rubs against the surrounding casing or feels tight or restricted.
What to look for:
- The caster wheel should spin freely.
- Any scraping, rubbing, or stiffness may trigger a false lift alert.
🛠️ Step 2: Check Caster Wheel’s Vertical Movement
- Gently push the caster wheel upward, then pull it downward.
- Make sure it moves smoothly up and down within its track or housing.
What to look for:
- The caster wheel should glide up and down without resistance.
- If it sticks, jams, or doesn’t bounce back properly, the mower may interpret this as a lifting event.

🛠️ Step 3: Check the Caster Wheel Bracket
Inspect the caster wheel bracket (see image).
-
Normal condition: The bracket should not be bent or damaged.
If the bracket is not damaged but the wheel feels tight, stiff, or restricted, try the following cleaning and lubrication steps:
Loosen the caster wheel fixing screw and remove the caster wheel.
-
Use WD40 or a similar degreasing cleaner to clean both the caster wheel axle and the chassis socket (see image). Wipe everything dry.
Apply a small amount of lubricating grease to the chassis socket and the caster wheel axle.
Reinsert the caster wheel into the chassis socket, tighten the fixing screw, then check if the caster wheel rotates and moves vertically more smoothly.
📩 What to Do After the Check
Once you've completed these steps, please let us know the result. If possible, send us a short video showing the caster wheel's rotation and vertical movement.
A video allows our engineering team to assess the issue more accurately and resolve it more efficiently. Submit a request and upload your video here
