Overview
You may notice that after setting a cutting height (for example, 50 mm), the actual grass height measured after mowing is not exactly the same as the selected value. In some cases, the grass may appear slightly taller or shorter than the configured cutting height.
This is a normal characteristic of the mower's cutting system and does not necessarily indicate a fault.
Why Does This Happen?
Our robotic mower uses a floating blade disc design, which allows the cutting system to adapt to varying lawn conditions and terrain. This design helps maintain mowing performance across different environments but can also result in some variation between the configured cutting height and the final grass height.
Several factors can influence the actual cutting result, including:
- Grass density – Thick or dense grass may affect how the blade disc interacts with the lawn.
- Grass type – Different grass species have different structures, flexibility, and growth patterns.
- Terrain variations – Uneven ground, slopes, bumps, and depressions can affect the relative position of the blade disc to the lawn surface.
- Blade disc height calibration tolerance – Small calibration deviations may contribute to differences in the final cutting height.
What Level of Variation Is Normal?
Under normal operating conditions, the actual cutting height may vary by approximately ±15 mm from the configured cutting height setting.
For example, if the cutting height is set to 50 mm, the resulting grass height may vary depending on lawn conditions and terrain.
Ongoing Improvements
We understand that consistent cutting height is important for maintaining a healthy and attractive lawn.
Our engineering team is continuously collecting and analyzing mower operating data from different lawn environments to further optimize height control performance and reduce cutting height deviations wherever possible.
Need Additional Assistance?
If you believe the cutting height deviation is significantly greater than expected, or if the mower is consistently cutting much higher or lower than the selected setting, please contact our support team and provide:
- Your mower model and serial number
- The configured cutting height
- Photos of the mowing result
- A short video, if available
This information will help us investigate the issue more effectively and provide appropriate assistance.
