Proper maintenance of the charging station ensures stable charging performance and long-term reliability. Please follow the guide below to clean and inspect the charging contacts.
1. When Should You Clean the Charging Station?
You should clean the charging station when you observe any of the following on the charging contacts:
- Black spots on the contacts
- Rust or corrosion
- Oxidation or discoloration
- Any visible dirt buildup affecting the metal surface
These conditions may affect charging stability and connection quality.
2. How to Clean the Charging Contacts
Please follow the steps below carefully:
Step 1: Power Off for Safety
Disconnect both the mower and the charging station from power to avoid short circuits or electric shock.
Step 2: Basic Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the charging contacts on both the station and the mower.
Step 3: Remove Severe Oxidation (if needed)
If the contacts are heavily oxidized and cannot be cleaned by wiping:
- Use 200-grit sandpaper for initial rough polishing
- Then use 1000-grit sandpaper for fine polishing
- After sanding, wipe again with a soft dry cloth to remove residue
- Spray a small amount of WD-40 Specialist to protect the metal surface
Step 4: Ensure Dryness Before Reconnecting
Make sure the contacts are completely dry before reconnecting power and restarting the system.
3. How to Confirm Cleaning Is Completed
Cleaning is considered complete when:
- No black spots remain on the charging contacts
- No visible oxidation or corrosion is present
- Both the charging station contacts and mower rear contacts are clean and shiny metal surface
Maintenance Recommendation
During peak mowing season, it is recommended to inspect the charging contacts every 2 weeks. If any dirt or oxidation is found, clean them promptly following the steps above.
