Q1: What is the “Hardware Check” feature?
The Hardware Self-Check is a built-in diagnostic tool available in the HOOKII App.
When your robot displays warning messages, behaves abnormally, or you simply want to confirm its hardware status, you can use this feature to automatically check whether all key hardware components are functioning properly.
It helps you quickly identify potential issues without waiting for manual troubleshooting.
Q2: When should I use the Hardware Self-Check?
We recommend running a self-check in the following situations:
You receive warning messages or error codes in the app
The robot behaves abnormally (e.g., won’t start, mowing issues, navigation issues)
You want to perform basic diagnostics before contacting support
You just received your new robot and want to verify its hardware condition
Q3: How do I start the Hardware Self-Check in the app?
You can follow these steps:
Open the HOOKII App and connect to your robot
Tap the “..." in the upper-right corner and select “Hardware Check.”
Tap “One-click check”
The robot will automatically examine various hardware modules.
The app will display the progress and results in real time.
Q4: What kind of messages will I see during and after the self-check?
1. All hardware functioning normally (green)
You will see:
“No issues detected — your robot is functioning normally.”
You may continue using the robot as usual.
2. Potential issues detected (red)
The app will clearly identify which module is abnormal, such as:
Left/right drive wheel issue
Left drive motor communication abnormal
...
The system will also provide troubleshooting instructions.
Q5: What should I do if a hardware issue is detected?
The app will display issue-specific guidance based on the detected error.
For example, if you see “Cutting disc lift motor cannot raise or lower”, a solution prompt will appear with step-by-step instructions, such as:
Check whether any debris or foreign objects are wrapped around the cutting disc lift mechanism
If no obstruction is found, restart the mower and check again
If the issue persists after restarting, please contact customer support for further assistance
Please follow the on-screen guidance to complete the steps.
Q6: Are the self-check results saved automatically?
Yes. You can choose to upload the self-check report. Once uploaded, any abnormal results will be synced to our backend system for further analysis.
Q7: How often should I run a self-check?
There is no need to run it frequently. We recommend using it only when:
You notice unusual behavior
The app displays warnings
The robot has been idle for a long period
After repairs or part replacements
