This article introduces the main features of the lawn mower APP and helps you quickly understand the purpose and usage scenarios of each function. By reading this article, you will learn:
Which features are currently supported by the APP
The effects and applicable scenarios of each feature
In which situations it is recommended to enable or disable specific features
Feature Details
Settings for operations on rainy days
Purpose: Control the mower’s working mode in rainy conditions.
Enabled: The mower will continue mowing even on rainy days.
Disabled: When rain is detected, the mower will automatically stop working and return to the charging station.
Scenarios:
If you want to maintain mowing progress even in light rain or damp conditions, enable this feature.
If you prefer better protection for the lawn and the machine, disable it so the mower will return to the charging station when it rains.
Additional features: In Rainy Day Work Mode, we have added weather forecast and rain sensor adjustment options.
If you set the rain sensor to a low sensitivity level, the mower will return to the charging station even when it detects light rainfall.
Patch mowing
Purpose: Perform additional mowing on small areas of the lawn that were missed or have regrown, preventing any uncut patches.
Scenarios: Small lawn areas left uncovered after moving flower pots, or sections where grass has grown quickly in a short period.
Visual obstacle avoidance
Purpose: Use the visual sensor to detect obstacles (such as flower pots, toys, or pets) and actively avoid them. However, the visual sensor may be affected by environmental lighting and diversity, which can impact the accuracy of obstacle detection.
Scenarios: Suitable for environments with small or temporary obstacles (in most cases, the radar-based obstacle avoidance is sufficient for daily use).
Crossing route
Purpose: Set how the mower enters the mowing area or returns to the charging station:
Nearest Crossing: Cross the lawn along the shortest path.
Along Boundary: Move across the lawn following the boundary.
Scenarios: Useful for lawns with multiple zones or long pathways, allowing flexible selection of crossing methods.
Edging mowing mode
Purpose: Mow only the edges of the mapped area; the mower will automatically return to the charging station after completing edge mowing.
Note: If set during the current task, this feature will take effect from the next mowing task.
Scenarios: Ideal for trimming grass along fences, corners, and flower bed edges.
Manual Task Priority Mode
Purpose: Handle conflicts between manual tasks and scheduled tasks:
Enabled: Manual tasks take priority; after completion, if it is still within the scheduled task period, the mower will continue with the scheduled task.
Disabled: In case of a conflict, the mower will execute the scheduled task instead.
Scenarios: Useful when you need to quickly mow a specific area without affecting the existing schedule.
Obstacle Avoidance Along Edge with Bumper Only
Purpose: Disable visual and radar-based obstacle avoidance, using only the bumper for obstacle detection.
The mower will only navigate around obstacles if the bumper detects objects ≥ 30 cm in height three consecutive times.
Scenarios: Suitable for mowing along edges with tall grass, reducing unnecessary detours caused by high grass and enabling more efficient edge trimming.
(Note: In this mode, LiDAR obstacle avoidance remains active, so the mower may avoid small obstacles; at the same time, it can still detect tall and dense grass and perform mowing tasks, but sparse tall grass will not be detected and needs to be manually cleared.)
HOOKII Indicator
Purpose: Control the mower’s indicator light status:
Night Adaptation: Automatically dim or turn off the light at night to reduce disturbance.
Turn off on schedule: Automatically turn off the light according to the set schedule.
Scenarios: Quickly determine whether the mower is operating by checking the indicator light, or reduce light disturbance at night.
Usage Tips
During the rainy season, it is recommended to disable Rainy Day Work Settings to protect the mower and the lawn.
For lawns with multiple zones, combining Crossing Route can help complete tasks more efficiently.
When mowing tall grass along edges, enabling Obstacle Avoidance Along Edge with Bumper Only saves time.
When operating at night, adjust Hookii Indicator settings flexibly to avoid excessive lighting.
